My Conversation with Deborah Brooks Langford

ImageTell us little more about yourself?

 I was born in North Carolina, I am a military brat. We lived in Germany and Spain and Turkey.  My father’s side of the family comes from Cherokee North Carolina and my mother’s families are English. I dedicated everything I do in the memory of my wonderful sweet mother and to Jesus Christ My Lord and Savior. I have always loved to write. I have always loved to write poetry. This is my first love in writing.

Quickly, tell us about your upcoming releases?

I am so excited. I have another cookbook going to be release June 15th called Four Seasons.

And, I am working on my third novel called “FOREVER BROOKE” this novel is the third one in a series. This is about Brooke when she was a young girl and sexually abused.

Do you have any specific inspiring incident that turned you out as an author?

I started writing my thoughts and it has turned into books. lol! Not really meaning to do it… I love every minute of writing.. Whether anyone wants to read it or not.. I am having fun.

Who designed your cover art? How did you choose the image?

I have two graphics artists that work their miracles with my book artists. The artist I used for my Novels is Author and Poet Susan Joyner – Stumpf and the other one is my Publisher and Author and Poet Barry Mowles, Destiny to write Publications.

Do you outline your work before you write?

No I do not outline my work, I just write. I will go over it later a hundred times to add or change things but no I never outline

How do you like spending your leisure hours?

I write on I love my poetry. I love to travel.

Which genre is far more appealing to you as a reader?

Women are I write in the woman’s point of view so many times..

What inspires you to write? Is there any level of similarity with the events or characters in your book and life in reality?

Life inspires me… Yes there is a lot of similarity with my life in my books… Life is great to write about.

Which is your current read?

What am I currently reading?? I read all the poetry I can. I love to order all my friends books they have published. There isn’t just one I read.

What, in your opinion is the toughest part while carving your book?

I have found it is hard for me to get the story the characters to go into more depth of the story. I really have to work on this.

Share a word of advice with our readers and authors, if any?

If you want to write if you LOVE TO WRITE, then write. Do not be afraid of criticism. But, do not let anyone discourage you. And there will be ones that will try. WRITE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. AND IF OTHERS WANT TO READ IT THEN THAT’S AWESOME and if you make money with it, that is a plus. But, do it not for the money but for the love of it.

Share one of your favorites from your music band collection, if any?

Wow, I love some great music. I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s. I love Stevie Nicks, Dreams.

If you’re a foodie, tell us about your favorite dish?

I love Italian… and I love to cook Italian…

Have read both the novels by Debbie brooks and also her Trilogy with poems and I admire this lady very much.., Her novels give us a brief and honest view how to grow up in the society and time she is writing about.. A pure love story weaved within facts about time and happening. I like her easy language her great passion in her poems and her being as a person to whom I can share my own poetry and always get a warm response from a lovely heart . Thanks dear Debbie Brooks .
